Private Tour to Hollókő (UNESCO site) and Eger with dedicated English-speaking guide and private vehicle
Duration: 8-9 hours
The tour includes a visit to the small village of Hollókő and wine tasting in Eger. The program is as follows: On the road to Eger, we visit the small village of Hollókő with its white houses and wooden porches covered with shingles. This town is a true outdoor living museum, as it is still inhabited by proud locals. It is the only Hungarian village that is on the list of the UNESCO world heritage sites. The ancient castle in Hollókő was constructed in the thirteenth century and still dominates the landscape of this region.
Eger is one of the most beautiful examples of Hungarian baroque architecture. Visit the famous sixteenth-century fortress with its underground protection system and the historic district. Get to know the second largest Basilica of Hungary, smaller baroque churches, the Turkish minaret and walk among the buildings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In the cellars of Szépasszonyvölgy (Valley of Beautiful Women) you can sample the finest wines, such as Egri Leányka (Eger Missy), Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the most famous: the Egri Bikavér (Bull's Blood of Eger).
